5 Reasons Why Women Give Away Fortunes for Love

You can’t browse YouTube and Social Catfish without seeing hundreds of women who have given hundreds of thousands of dollars in the hopes of receiving love in return. It’s so sad to me when I see mid-life women cry crocodile tears because they gave away their life savings or their dead husband’s life insurance because a master manipulator told them he loved them and wanted to be with them.

I’ve been there…not to that degree…for me it was only $2,500. in the early 2000s but when we live with the “love of potential” we’ll believe anything because we’re hungry to be valued.

You can have anything if you’ll love me

I have found 5 reasons that women are willing to risk their own financial health and future security.

• They want to be loved for who they truly are, for all the intrinsic value they bring to the table.
• They’re lonely. Maybe they’re newly divorced or widowed and the thought of living life along is too scary.
• They seek true connection. As a single women, unless we have a robust circle of friends, we long for conversation and meaningful connection.
• They desire romantic fulfillment and deep intimacy after the death of a beloved spouse or tragic ending of a marriage.

The best thing I’ve found is to find fulfillment in being the best version of myself and that looks like forging great connections at church, serving and volunteering, and strengthening the long-time relationships I already have.

When a new suitor comes along and shows interest, question everything but don’t interrogate. Don’t let them come over until you really, really know them and their character, and know that true connection and fulfillment comes through a personal relationship with Christ.
